One Happy Camper Grant
The Milwaukee Jewish Federation has partnered with the Foundation for Jewish Camp to provide grants and introductory rates for first-time campers at Jewish overnight camps. The One Happy Camper program provides grants up to $1000.
Limited funding is available to day school students through PJ Goes to Camp. If you need an online code contact pjgtc@hgf.org. Funding for day school families is first come, first serve, so interested families should apply as soon as possible.
“Camp was a great experience! I got to meet new friends, learn more about being Jewish, and had fun doing so many different activities. My favorite part was Shabbat because we all got to dance and celebrate our religion. Camp Interlaken really makes me feel like I am at home. I love it so much and want to go to camp forever!”

Harry Hecht Family Memorial College Scholarship
Recognizing the difficulties many parents face when trying to finance their children’s college education, the Hecht Fund was endowed with a generous gift to the Jewish Community Foundation. Since 1997, The Fund has given scholarships to over 70 deserving Jewish high school seniors in preparation for college.
Evelyn & Ben Breitman Education Endowment Fund
Ben Breitman was an accountant, and his wife Evelyn was a teacher. Both are now of blessed memory.
“I started the fund because education was very important to both of them,” said daughter Susan Schoenfeld. “I wanted to do something in their memory. And I wanted that to be something that could last over a period of time. I just want to help people.”
Marcus and Rita Wohlfeiler Memorial Scholarship Fund
Marcus Wohlfeiler was a Holocaust survivor whose family was greatly aided by the Jewish communities in Milwaukee when they immigrated to Wisconsin after World War II. This fund was established in a spirit of gratitude to the Milwaukee Jewish community, and to provide aid for future students as they begin their first year at a U.S. college or university.
